Join Us for an Evening of Stigma Smashing Fun!
The Alliance for Eating Disorders Awareness and Southern Smash are thrilled to head back to New Orleans for their annual event, SMASHing the STIGMA on Thursday, November 21.
We hope you will join us for an evening of hors d'oeuvres, libations, mingling, and stories of hope and inspiration. Proceeds raised at the event will remain in the community, and will continue to fund a free, clinician-led, weekly support group for adults currently braving the road to recovery from their eating disorder.

Your Honorary Chair,
McCall Dempsey is a Baton Rouge local, an eating disorder survivor and passionate recovery advocate. After a 15-year battle, McCall sought treatment at the Carolina House in December 2010. Since then she has made eating disorder awareness and prevention her life’s work and passion.
McCall also writes the popular blog, Loving Imperfection. Her writing has been featured in various national television, print and online publications, including Today Show, Women’s Health Online and HuffPostLive.com.
About Your Hosts
Stacy Fletchinger and Ellen Johnson, New Orleans support group attendees, are your passionate hosts for this event. Ellen shares, "Our weekly support group has taken me from a place of captivity to a place of freedom and HOPE! I used to relapse repeatedly and, with the Alliance support group now in my life, I am now able to maintain my recovery." Stacy states, "I believe in the authentic support that is created with The Alliance support groups allowing honest, courageous, vulnerable people to openly share their story. I am a result of this healing journey to recovery.” Come support these amazing women in New Orleans!
